Every Joey Needs a Pacey...
Okay, ever since yesterday (out of nowhere, which is how I roll) in the middle of my shift at work, I have been jones-ing for some old school Dawson's Creek. Like season three Pacey and Joey style Dawson's Creek, and aww, I just watched a bunch while I was cleaning up my room, and such, and I still remembered every line from my fave scenes!! I am such a nerd about Pacey and Joey, I think in little part because my sister is a Dawson/Joey shipper. But anyways, I digress...I actually started thinking (shocking, I know) about the significance of that preference. Like, I think it says certain things about you as a person if you prefer the Dawson/Joey love story over the Pacey/Joey love story. One of the scenes I watched tonight was the one at the 'Anti-Prom' when Pacey can tell which of Joey's jewelry is more 'her' :) Everytime I see that, I go "THAT is what I want!! A guy that pays attention to the little things and just KNOWS me!" Also when she tells him that she 'felt it' about him too in the one where they go to Dawson's aunts house :) And love how the story of his Aunt ran parallel to the story unfolding between Dawson and Joey and Pacey, how she 'married to a person she was comfortable with' and then Richard came and made her feel alive, like how Pace makes Joey feel...okay, sorry I kinda go off on a tangent about them...
I also think that like the title of the blog suggests, every Joey needs a Pacey...and I am not speaking just romantically, I am basically saying that every person needs someone in their life who pushes them, and makes them want to do better and makes them better by being who they are, someone who sees you for who you really are and loves that person, even when you don't know how to find that person in yourself. Once again, with the rambling...anyways, just thought I would share my thoughts about that. I love that pairing, and I am glad the writers and everyone finally got it right on a show, they had the 'right' couple end up together.
Also, if I had to pick of all the ships I sail, I would say that I ship Joey and Pacey the most. I am not saying that won't change, I am just saying they have been number one for a long time, and it would take a lot to usurp them! I mean I have other ships that I pull as hard for, but they didn't end up together on air, so I am going with the couple that had the ending I would choose for them! :)
Joey and Pacey are my favorite because of the chemistry and the wit and banter, can't have love without passion...that is basically platonic :P
So here are the scenes I was talking about from the above rant:
LOVE this song, like on a crazy level!
And like I was saying, Pacey remembers the little things (hello bracelet) makes him AWESOME! :) And of course I have to show the 'first time' nookie, come on!! Why wouldn't I? Also, LOVE this song (which is the one they replaced the original one with on the DVD, which I usually don't like...) LOVE the original too, if anyone needs it, I bought the CD after I hunted it down after the show aired LOL, cause I am a freak...
And because if I have this normal size, I think you all will skip over it, here (LET ME KNOW PEOPLE!!):
QUESTION: What is your favorite TV or Movie couple to ship? Are they together in the end? and Why are they your fave?
ETA: Now, it is 'ever since two days ago' cause I fell asleep while typing this up... oops :), it was supposed to be up last night before I went to bed.

They are my favorite ship because they were my first? I just like how their relationship develops over the years from opposing eachother in the very first ep to fighting the fight together later on.
I especially liked how they played out the UST between the two. I hope we will see more like that in Bones.
Overall my favorite couples are always partners, also: Harmon and Mac from JAG and ofcourse Booth and Bones.

Love is a many splendid things...
in the world of movies my fave ship is Ilsa/Rick from Casablanca. Yes Hun I know you powernapped your way through that one, but it's still my favorite film of all times so there you have it. It's hopeless romance at its best and if like me you've read the book that follews the movie you'd know that sometimes love does win.
In the land of TV it's a bit more complicated... See my first thought when it comes to ships is ALWAYS Buffy/Angel. Those two are just... oh boy! talk about tragic love and heartbreak and joy and just pure WAOW! But then again there's the couple that makes me keep my believes that fictional love can make it through (even when it seems imposible and has been torn appart by one of the actors becoming a big time movie star) alive... Carol/Doug of ER. Seriously everytime I watch 'Such Sweet Sorrow' I feel that same flutter in my stomach as I did the very first time. Now I've talked about this about 38 gazillion times, but the fact that they were able to get George back to do his first big role and thereby making fans all over the world go crazy when seing Carol and Dough reunited in Seattle after having been apart for a year. Yeah that right there is enough to keep me believing.
So I'm guessing it might be a tie between the two of them because Heaven knows they've also both made me cry, laugh and yell at the tv more times can i can even being to count and well I just love them both.
Oh and I ofcourse also have to mention Rory/Dean because come on how can I not? In my head they are together again. Who knows maybe Lorelai is gonna be a grandmother soon ;)wouldn't that freak her out?!?!?! Those two were the first ship i picked up after the WB broke my heart and cancelled The JossVerse by killing off AtS and well they've just stuck.

Dude, I totally agree with what you mean about the couples you ship say something about the person you are. If you're the kind of person that values passion and being challenged (whether it means being challenged to reach your potential or challenged to go against the expectations of you), you'll ship P/Jo, where as if you value things that are timeless and untouchable and idealistic, you'll ship D/Jo. And there's nothing wrong with either way, it's just about who you are.
P/Jo always felt more "real" to me, if I can describe it like that. Tangible, if you will.
