Random Mini Catch Up Post

Okay, this is the AWESOME Rescue Me promo that I was talking about before (and the song I got hooked on):
- Oh, and BTW Robyn, the BFF wants to know how any self respecting woman DOESN'T watch a show full of hot/hilarious firemen? :P
- HATE hate HATE Norton Antivirus. I have been MIA from online for the last two days because when I installed the upgrade they tole me to and restarted my comouter it wouldn't let me IN anything. I couldn't click on desktop icons, I couldn't open the 'start' menu, NOTHING. And now, all of a sudden it seems to be working. I was so ready to chuck it out the window, and as per usual the Geek Squad was about as much help as if I talked to a wall *sigh*.
- THANK YOU Twin, for my VGift :) I love you too darling! But you already know that! :) OH, and did I mention that the guest room you have here is bigger than my room? LMAO! It is my sister's old room, and I could have moved in there when she left, but I didn't :P
- Got a postcard for the 'LA Con Postcard Project' from a GUY! A MALE! Dude, I was so excited! *happy!dance* Oh, and if anyone feels like spreading the word about it more, I will be greatful. I think people forgot about it, I'll be posting a 'remider' soon, hopefully later tonight. Also, I am actually really proud to be able to give the guys something from a bunch of fans that is so personalized yet individual (if that makes sense to you). SO I want it to be as much as possible.
- Saw 'Watchmen' at 12:01 this morning, and had to be at work at 5am. SO, I didn't sleep at all (cause hello, three hour movie, and then the drive home and I wasn't exactly tired anyways).
QUICK REVIEW WITHOUT SPOILERS:
I liked the movie. JDM in leather being all badass was definitely worth the sleep deprivation! And I like Patrick Wilson from other stuff. I was really surprised by a few things (won't mention, cause they are highly spoilery) but wasn't surprised by who was the 'baddie'. Oh, also? The theatre for this wasn't as packed as for Friday the 13th (which I only mention because I think it says something about the weird ass backwater hicks that live in my town) I am ore than sure the numbers for this will blow Friday the 13th out of the water, but I was cracking up to myself that my town is chalk full of people who would rather watch some psycho kill campers than a magnificently done graphic novel adaption movie.
Also? WAY too many young (teenage) kids. I totally thought it would be a little more 'mature' (like my age and above a little, 20's and 30's) of a crowd. Cause the graphic novel came out in the 80's right? So, when I was waiting in line (and stopped bugging Carina, sorry hun) I was reading my book I brought (yes, I am so Rory, don't ask) and got looks like "WTF is she DOING.....what is that square thing she is holding...?" so I am thinking that the teenagers came because of the trailers and not because they were big fans of the novel, they didn't exactly strike me as 'readers' ;). OH, and I saw some guy (when we were coming out of the theater) that had a 'Watchmen Comic Con 2008' shirt on, and I was totally like 'OMG, I went there TOO!' Ha!
Okay, one last note. The hardcore fans (I figured cause they kept mentioning the novel) were less than impressed. One guy actually was like 'Wow, that sucked....I think I built it up in my head too much'. And was replied to with hearty agreement from random people around him (that weren't with himm, sparking mass discussion around me as I left). Saying things like "the graphic novel was more lively that that!' along with 'All the good parts were in the trailer!' and 'I expected it to be more epic, more...I don't know' and 'It fizzled out about half way thorough'. And I was all but leaving my mouth hanging open listening to their complaints. I thought that it WAS epic. I mean, I haven't ever seen such convincing special effects for something like this (hello, completely glowing blue man people! Among other things, that is just the first that pops into my head). Once again, I wish to point out my poor podunk town. *sigh* these people wouldn't know a GOOD movie if it smacked them upside the head apparently. So, the point being that I want to apologize to my Twin, cause she will inevitably run into these morons when she is here visiting. Sorry in advance hun.
- Ummmm...sure I had more to say, but oh well, I am gonna past date a few posts with random stuff. :) Hope everyone had a good Watchmen Day.
- OH, also, my email hates me and decided to not give my updates while I was all MIA, so if you think I need to read anything of yours that you posted, can link me please? Thanks :P

Yup, I am gonna get on it, I have just been fighting with the computer for two days, so yeah, not exactly caught up. I am down to 40 updates to go through though.

Date: 2009-03-07 05:51 am (UTC)OH, speaking of needing things from you, my Dad LOVED the Tim Tams he stole from me LOL. I left them out and he snagged some for lunch one day and when he got home, he asked my Mom 'WHAT were THOSE?!' LOL, so my Mom told him that you can only get them in Australia, and so when we were talking about you being here, he was like 'You know, tell her I may just charge her rent in Tim Tams' LMAO! (he is a funny guy) So I am sure you would be in good graces with the folks if you brought my Dad a pack of Tim Tams (if possible, I brought Oreo's to T when I visited her, and put them in between the clothes, and they were fine).
Also, whenever you get a chance could you possibly snag me some of that YUMMY licorice you keep over there? I SO loved the mango and the Black Currant flavors. No rush though, even if you don't do it before the trip, it's no biggie, just wanted to ask you when I was thinking of it :)

Date: 2009-03-07 05:55 am (UTC)And you weren't bugging me, darling. Don't worry.
Oh yeah, I remember I was going to ask you: So what is your itinerary for when your twin is here? Will there be some time that we will somehow be able to meet up? possibly? We never really talked about that too much. LoL!
On a completely different note: Do you know who Ingram Hill? If not, please tell me so I can give you their music.

Date: 2009-03-07 06:10 am (UTC)Oh, yeah, I was actually planning on calling you sometime tomorrow. We will definitely MAKE time to come and see you :) I mean, it's only a couple hours away. It would probably be better if you told us when is convenient for you. Cause not a lot of the stuff is 'definite' dates yet, we are just working out the times so far. Like we need so many days for this trip, and a few here, and there, but no set things yet. Although, if you wanted to come with us on anything, I am sure that would be more than fine. I mean, you said you've never been to Vegas right? Well my crazy Twin wants to go there. Okay, rambling now LOL, if you have a preferance let me know. I am working out the schedule piece by piece.
It does not sound familiar *grabby hands* gimme gimme :P
(no subject)
Date: 2009-03-07 06:39 am (UTC)Yay! You can totally call me whenever and we'll discuss it. Vegas!? I would totally LOVE to go, but I don't know if I'll be able to (what with school and the no job thing) But I'm sure we can figure out something. ^___^
Ingram Hill (http://www.sendspace.com/file/orzfwh) That's all of the stuff I have so far, aside from the Queen tribute song, which I'm probably going to upload anyway. So, you'll be able to snag it then. I've really grown to like them. They're pretty awesome.

Date: 2009-03-08 04:46 am (UTC)And yes, I do believe this was discussed as well :) Well, at least we stayed relatively on topic :)
Thank you so much! I am so DLing (cause you know, I KNOW you :P) and I will give them a listen :)

Date: 2009-03-07 06:21 pm (UTC)Awww *hugs* I'm just about to renew my Norton and I'm worrying now lol.
Oh good more postcards, post in all the comms:D do you have many in for it?
I'm glad you enjoyed the film, I'll have to wait for the DVD as usual, no one wants to come see it with me:p
(no subject)
Date: 2009-03-08 04:17 am (UTC)Yeah, I wouldn't upgrade to the 2009 version if you can avoid it. My computer was doing the 'not letting me in' all day today, and I finally got in to uninstall it with a friends help, and now that it is gone, I am running fine.
I don't have as many as I'd like for it, but yeah, I have some :)
OH man! What do I keep telling you?! Go by yourself! I did! I was all reading in line, and totally got a good seat cause I didn't have to make sure there was more than one :P Empower yourself woman! Go by yourself! :P

Date: 2009-03-08 07:24 am (UTC)I use McAfee and it hasn't given me any problems, yet *knocks on wood*
I was starting to get worried when you kept talking about all the negative things people were saying about Watchmen. SO glad you liked it however, because I totally trust your judgement. So how was it time wise? Did you FEEL like you were sitting there forever? Did time fly because it was so awesome? Or was it like a mix?
(no subject)
Date: 2009-03-08 07:39 am (UTC)I got Norton out of there and am DLing the one that my ISP offers.
Well, it was a mix. I mean, I noticed about half way through when I looked at my watch that it WAS half way through. I only looked at my watch though cause I was worried it was closer to the end and I wouldn't get a resolution. So yeah, a mix, cause after I looked at my watch, I was like 'Wow, I am really gonna get no sleep...' so I checked it a time or two again because I was nervous that it would be over three hours because of previews and such, and not starting on time possibly. But it was fine, I left right at three am when I thought I would, and yeah, it was really a good movie, and I didn't read the novel, so yeah, it was good without me KNOWING everything about it.
(no subject)
Date: 2009-03-08 08:00 am (UTC)Okay, I am glad it wasn't so freakin long and drawn out that you were twiddling your thumbs. I haven't read the graphic novel either but I am a huge superhero genre fan so I think I'll enjoy it just as much as you! =)
(no subject)
Date: 2009-03-08 08:07 am (UTC)Nope, but you know it is not a typical 'Superhero' movie right? Like he (The director) described it like this: "It's like if Superman doesn't care about humanity, Batman can't get an erection and the bad guy wants world peace"
Which I thought was hilarious.
(wrong icon, sorry)

Date: 2009-03-08 06:41 pm (UTC)Yeah, I watched a Reelz channel thing about it. There's only like 1 they said that actually has a power. Its more like Sin City (which I love) than say X-Men (which I also love) but still fits in the genre. I am soooo excited to see it!
(no subject)
Date: 2009-03-09 03:43 am (UTC)Yeah, JDM said in an interview (don't expect to go to the theatre and see 'Fantastic Four' that's not what is going on here.

Date: 2009-03-08 10:38 am (UTC)Ugh, I always hate updating stuff on my computer. It runs so fucking slowly the couple days afterwards. Pisses me off to no end! Grrr.
I didn't hear any discussion by other cinema-goers as I was leaving (probably cos I pretty much made a break for the loos after the credits ended, LOL) but I, my Mum and my friends Kirra and Tami thought it was pretty awesome and indeed Epic. Although none of us had read the comics so we weren't expecting a certain level of awesomeness.

Date: 2009-03-09 03:45 am (UTC)Yeah, I got rid of it, screw that man!
Yeah, it was great, and I didn't read the novel, but my friend that did (and has read it like a TON of times) says she absolutely loved it!
