ohboothOn with the LA Con (very delayed, sorry guys, I suck, I know) details :)
Couple things I forgot in the previous posts:
Fredric Lane actually had an 'encounter' with a ghost when he was a teen :) It changed his friends life so much that his friend (forgot his name) is NOW a REAL LIFE Demon/ghost hunter. Like he travels abroad going to haunted places and stuff blasting away ghosties, and people kind of started to snicker in the audience, but you could tell (his body language and tone in his voice totally changed) that he was serious, Fred said that it changed all of them.
And I also forgot to show you cutie pie Jason Manns explaining his penchant for weird faced pictures :
Cause really, I have like four videos of him, but I haven't recorded with a digital camera before and it picked up a lot of me talking over him (oops LOL). I didn't know I had such a loud voice....okay, so maybe I did, but I didn't mean to :)
Okay, up next was Chad Lindberg, here is what I remember from his panel:
- FIRST THINGS FIRST!!!
If you go to a Con with Chad in it, for crying out loud, ask the man some questions!! We are crazed avid fans when it comes to SN, so do a little research and figure out something you want to ask Chad, his answers may not always be what you expect, but they are almost always entertaining!! We had A LOT of pauses and silences because people didn't ask questions and he was STILL cracking jokes and making us laugh!...hey, I am included in this group (that didn't properly prepare for Chad), but I blame it on being my first Con, so I was nervous just being there...and I figured EVERYONE would have questions. Anyway, back to the recap...LOL
- He came out and strutted his stuff, total freakin cutie pie!! He did his little runway walk and turn and such, it was hilarious!! I have pics! I decided to add some here (smaller versions so I don't kill your computers) as well as over on my Flikr page link I'll have at the bottom of the post. Here is Chaddy working the stage! (PICS REMOVED DUE TO STEALING)
- Okay, first I have to say is that the beer snatching thing was all him! I am sure everyone already knows that, but there is an extra part! I brought this picture:
for him to sign!!! One where he is actually mid beer-snatch! So when I got up there, I put the picture down, and he went to sign it, but stopped and looked at it and then looked up at me like "Wha...?" cause pretty much all the pics were the same couple that were available at the Con and I said "THAT *pointed to the picture* is why I was so happy when you said that the beer snatching thing was you! I chose that picture because that is one of my favorite things about Ash! I am so glad it was your idea, that is great!"
He was like "Right on! That is so cool!" and I was like "I know!" and because of a crazy misunderstanding (and it being my first Con) I had another for him to sign, and it was DARK and he signed in black and looked at it and was like "That's no good, hold on" and grabbed the silver sharpie and retraced it! LOL, so funny! It is kinda shaky and cracks me up when I look at it, and he was like "Well, I don't know if I made it better or worse, but I think it looks kinda good!" I said "You did great thanks so much!"
Okay, so more panel memories:
- He did a documentary film that (I think, may have the exact wording wrong) is called My Big Break about a group of guys (modeled after him and his friends that moved to Hollywood) that live together and try to make it in the business. He said he has a feeling it isn't going to be popular with a lot of movie exec's and big wigs because it is a REAL look at the inner workings of Hollywood and the industry, which honestly made me want to watch it more! I love unvarnished truth!
- Some chick actually asked if the arm in the pile of rubble at the Roadhouse was his or a stunt arm, and he looked kind of thrown and said "Nope, not mine that was a stunt arm"....just in case anyone had any doubts...
- Okay, I have heard a lot of back and forth about whether he was naked during his scene that he comes to the door naked at the Roadhouse and I remember him saying he didn't remember if he had the thing they 'block' your parts with on or not, he knows they gave it to him and everything, but he was in total Ash character and didn't remember if he actually used it, and then he kinda gave a little wink...so I am not sure if the wink was saying that of course it was on, or it wasn't, either way the boys were having a hard time keeping a straight face during the scene (which I would imagine would be hard when the mullet comes on screen at all anyways...)
- He kept miming flipping the mullet when anyone would bring it up, it was hilarious/cute! (didn't get a pic of that that I can 'remember' (cause lord knows it could have happened, but I am not for sure on it, so here is some cute!)
- Everyone kept saying that they know Ash is still alive and asking him whether he would come back. He said "I suggest you talk to Kripke later about that (the being alive part), lobby for me" and said the of course he would come back to the character of Ash.
- He said the one thing he really wanted to do and never got to was go on the road with the boys. Like they would be cruisin' along and Ash would like pop up from the back seat and be on his computer helping them with a hunt. And he thinks Ash could have saved the boys once in a while. (that lead into how he could return to the show...) This was his "save the day" arm pump!
- Another thing he said about wanting to come back is the way he wanted to come back, Said he wanted to save Sam and Dean by like busting down a door and coming in with his bow and arrow/gun saving the day, and totally mimed the whole thing, got up, hid behind his chair and fake kicked down a imaginary door and held up his not there bow and arrow and was like "Ash..." (I only got a picture of him with the "bow and arrow/gun" stance, because I was laughing so hard I was lucky to even get that!)
- Some girl also asked if he had a crazy fan experience ever and if he wanted one. And he was like "Sure, what does that entail...how about a hug?" and went over to the side of the stage and gave her a hug! Here is the pic of him walking back and the lucky girl (cause he is so cuddly, but I will tell ya how I know that later)
- Someone asked about The Fast and the Furious and how it was like working with Vin Diesel, and he kinda gave the look like he gets asked that a lot and went, "Well, I worked with him before he was VIN DIESEL and he was really down to earth, just really into the process" (or something like that). And the girl asked if he was in the forth one (anyone watch it? cause I haven't seen it in ages, but he gets killed right?) and he said no, but both Paul and Vin are in the forth one (so a little inside scoop for ya if you are a fan).
- Another question someone asked is what kind of girl Ash would be with, because we never see him with any girls. *crowd snicker*
He says "Why just one? I think Ash would have at least two girls, one for each arm!" and then went on to say he would be driving in the Impala with his arm around a lady:
- No, he did not get to keep the mullet :( LOL
- The original concept for Ash was more of a "Captain Jack" out of it hippy vibe, but he thought it would work more like how he saw it. So that was how he went to audition, he had a plaid shirt with the arms cut off, old jeans and boots and kind walked in plopped down, and threw his shirt open and leaned back and did his Ash voice and was like "Hey..." LOL, here he is doing his audition mime:
- He was adorable and giggly!! I was cracking up, he has such an inviting open quality to his personality, he just answers questions and talks to ya like you have known him for years!! And his girlfriend is GORGEOUS (so I am told)! And he made some ADORABLE faces!! Look at a few:
- Okay, at the Dessert Party he was hilarious again! You could tell he was totally tired and he was drinking coffee, but he was his goofy lovable self! He actually climbed up on one table, and sat back like leaning back on his arm in a model pose (I wasn't at that table) and was doing his pose again! When he got to our table we were like "Um, what was the table dance about?" and he said "Well, they asked me to, so I had to" Awwwwww CHAD! Such a people pleaser, so funny! Cause then we went "Well, okay, you can climb on our table now too." and he actually moved to go up and we all started laughing and were like "OMG! No, we were kidding!" And he got one of those sneaky smiles he kept whipping out! SO CUTE!
And yes, they all three did the 'catwalk' when they got up there (Chad and Fred even opened their Jackets/sweatshirts doing a mini strip thing, it was such great fun!!) I didn't get that great of a picture of Steve doing his, mainly because I didn't expect Steve to be there (the band was still packing up the equipment I am guessing) and I was all "OMG! STEVE!!!" But I did get a couple of Chad (who was holding coffee at the time, talented guy I tell ya!!):
- And when he made his round to OUR table, he was sitting right next to me and was asked (okay, I am pretty sure I asked, cause S and I were speculating what it was during the Q&A, but it is all fuzzy cause I was really excited, either way, it got asked) and he told us like nothing, it was great (and unfortunately some of the little tidbits we/I got from the guests I am keeping to myself cause I don't know what they want shouted from the rooftops and what they don't and the net is a dangerous thing...so yeah) the point is he made us feel like we could ask him anything.
- That leads me to my next part, I felt so comfy after our talk at the Dessert table that when he was tapped and told it was time to go and we all got up I said "Would it be completely out of line to ask for hugs?" and WITHOUT HESITATION he goes "OH! Of course not, you guys are the last table! We need hugs!" And I got a BIG OL' HUG from Chad! (and another when we did the photo op, but that was rushed, so you know) And it was a 'good' hug, not the normal guy "pat on the back with one arm" hug, and not a "crush your sternum" hug either, a really nice warm hug! It was great! He is so amazing and friendly!
- He was even posing for pictures with people outside of the dessert party (which the Creation people jumped on really quickly, cause they said they wanted to make sure it was okay with him) and he waved them off "Oh, no" he said "I was in stalker mode eaves dropping "it is totally fine." When a Creation worker went "Are you okay with the picture taking?" But my season Con goer friend S said we shouldn't get pics with him because we didn't want to be remembered by the Creation team as the chicks that broke the rules (which was really good advice, cause they DID remmeber the chick, and were still talking about it the next day, cause they TOLD everyone that the first five or so minutes of the Dessert Party was for pic taking, and then we were told to not only turn our cameras off, but to put them away also!

you did an excellent summary! Some questions seem similar to eyecon :p I believe My Big Break is a documentary, Sam was talking about it too and she dais its honest and real so yeah not everyones gonna like it coz Hollywood is a though place to survive

I always think like that too..some people at eyecon ask celebs for candid pics but I dont feel that comfortable doing it, IDK why

That means when you come next year *wink wink* that I won't have to chase you around and worry about security booting you out for trying to get pics with celebs LOL (although we did ask, after seeing a few people in front of us do it, Sandy for a pic during her signing session, and she was more than up for it! She actually did two with me cause I thought the first didn't take! And we got ones with Kripke too, cause we...well, we just had to! Also got candids with Steve :) But that was after he was done with everything and he was all about doing all the stuff (autos and probably would have done the pics for free if he could have gotten away with it LOL) for free so I thought if I was gonna ask anyone, it would be him! :) The chick I was standing in line with asked Sandy, and S and I both sorta asked Kripke, and he was like "OH YEAH! Of course!" SUCH A DOLL!
