Sorry hun, I got nothing...I hate Office! Always have problems with it, neverhad this particular one though...
If all else fails, which I hope it doesn't, you could always download Open Office. It's free and I know for a fact that it has a functioning spell-check.
Okay I did a little research and if what Robyn says doesn't work you might wanna try this: http://localtech.gidblog.com/2007/07/24/fix-microsoft-office-word-2007-spellcheck-not-working/
It has a good solution, and if you need help with the popular solution, lemme know. Cause that one is a bit more tricky, but it should work for you.
What she said worked, for now at least, I am gonna save that link though hun, thank you so much for taking time to research it for me, I mean, I tried, but I suck at finding stuff, an I just kept getting questions about the problem I was having, but no one would post solutions.
I did run the diagnostics, and it said everything was fine, but I tried Robyn's trick and it said it disabled it because it had a problem with running, *sigh* computers are supposed to HELP us, not drive us batty!

"Go to word options, then Addins, in the drop dorp box called "manage" chose disabled addins.
You should find spell checker is disabled, click enable "

If for some reason you cant get it working you could always write in google docs, they have a spell checker and everything

Oh, it's pretty usefull. I don't have an MS Office at the moment, so I am using that and it looks very similar.

Have you tried running the diagnostic tool, go to Microsoft Office tools, then click on the diagnostic tool, and it should do a repair for you.
*hugs*
